Lee Hae-in, the former trainee whose idol debut was stolen by vote rigging, danced on stage for the first time in 10 years. The performance aired on the October 9 episode of KBS 2TV’s “Happy Together - Glad I’m Not Alone.”
According to a report by Newsen, Lee Hae-in joined forces with singer Natti for the show’s final stage, performing “No.1” — a song said to carry the story of the two meeting during hard times.
Backstage, a nervous Lee Hae-in said it felt like reaching another final round where she would be judged by votes again. Natti answered that the moment brought back memories of the old days.
Lee Hae-in said she used to walk into every audition with desperation and nerves — but this time, with the nice weather, it felt like a festival, and she prepared with a happy heart. Natti introduced her by saying, “Haein unnie is dancing for the first time in 10 years.”
Lee Hae-in competed on Mnet’s “Produce 101” and then “Idol School,” finishing 11th and missing her debut. It was later revealed that the producers had manipulated the voting — she had actually won first place but was pushed down to 11th and eliminated. She ended a 10-year trainee life and became a director.
Watching the duo, a cast member who had also been eliminated in a survival show final said they knew how the two felt — and that seeing their effort and story made it a great stage.
