Veteran actor Jung Bo-seok is taking on a new title: cosmetics CEO. In the October 10 broadcast of KBS 2TV’s Mr. House Husband Season 2 (airing at 10:35 p.m. KST), the 41-year acting veteran opens up about shuttering the family bakery cafe and launching his own beauty brand, reports Herald Economy.
Jung says he has long been interested in cosmetics and decided to develop and launch his own brand. Cameras follow him commuting to an office set up on the first floor of his Seongbuk-dong home, showing a charismatic executive side — and playful real-life chemistry with his wife, who manages his schedule.
He also visits the bakery now run independently by his second son. Jung previously co-ran a bakery cafe with his family out of their renovated home, but closed it after his son’s lackluster attitude left his wife doing all the work. He said on a recent YouTube appearance that his son would show up at 10 a.m. and leave for workouts by 5, and his wife’s joints always ached from the labor.
After several warnings, Jung decided to shut it down; his son has since moved the bakery elsewhere and continues there.
Jung, who debuted in 1986, is known for High Kick, Giant, and Oh! Samkwang Villa. On the show he also apologizes to his family for being too absorbed in businesses to be present.
