Kim Gun-mo is stepping up his 35th anniversary activities with a new industry partner, joining forces with Music&New to support his upcoming releases and ongoing nationwide tour.

His agency, Geoneum Planning, announced on October 26 that Kim Gun-mo has partnered with Music&New, the music business subsidiary of content media group NEW. Music&New handles music content distribution and production as well as marketing, and according to Dispatch it has signed a partnership agreement with the singer to actively support his new songs and album releases. An agency representative said Kim Gun-mo will carry out his music activities, including new songs and albums, together with Music&New.

The partnership comes with new music already in motion. MK reported that Kim Gun-mo is currently recording with the goal of releasing a new album alongside his tour, a detail that points to a busier release schedule ahead rather than a tour-only anniversary year. His most recent single, released on July 1, was his first new song in about a decade, and its music video had passed 1.6 million views as of October 2026. Notably, he played acoustic guitar on the track himself for the first time since his debut, a deliberate change of musical color noted by both Dispatch and MK. That detail matters because it shows the anniversary project is not only a retrospective: the July single already tested a different sound, and the new album sessions now underway extend that experiment while the tour is still running. For longtime listeners, the result is a two-track anniversary, with familiar songs reframed on stage and new recordings arriving in parallel rather than after the tour ends.

That guitar-led reinvention is also the theme of his current stage show. The nationwide “Kim Gun-mo. 35TH ANNIVERSARY LIVE TOUR” opened in Daegu on October 10 and looks back over the musical path he has built across 35 years. Upcoming stops include Jeonju on October 31, Gwangju on December 5, and Goyang on December 26, with the tour scheduled to continue into 2027. MK reported that the tour moves away from his previous piano-centered stage setup, offering a fresh interpretation of his music through guitar performances.

The anniversary tour follows a successful return to the live stage. His “25-26 Kim Gun-mo Live Tour,” which wrapped up in March, marked his return to performing before live audiences after about six years, and Dispatch reported that the Seoul and Busan shows sold out. The momentum from that tour has carried directly into the anniversary run, which opened in Daegu earlier this month to an audience ready to revisit decades of his catalog.

For a singer Dispatch describes as an original national singer, the Music&New deal reads as a structural step as much as a celebratory one. Rather than relying on touring alone, Kim Gun-mo now has a dedicated music company behind distribution, production, and marketing for his next chapter, while he records in parallel with performing. That combination of a new album in progress and a tour already on the road gives the anniversary year two tracks instead of one, and it positions the guitar reinterpretation of his sound as something audiences will hear on record as well as on stage.

With the Jeonju show days away and further dates booked through December and into next year, the immediate focus is the tour itself. Fans can expect the anniversary set list to keep reframing familiar songs through the guitar-led arrangements, while the new album sessions underway point to fresh material arriving as the tour continues.
