Kim Min-ho is trading his military uniform for chef whites. The “Shinbyung” star has been cast as the ambitious sous chef Bae Young-soo in JTBC’s new Saturday-Sunday drama “Final Table,” premiering October 24 at 10:40 PM.
According to TenAsia, the drama — written and directed by Kim Do-hoon — follows Korean chefs from around the world who gather to compete in “The Table: K Chef 2026,” a contest to crown the country’s best Korean chef.
Bae Young-soo works as sous chef at “Exception,” a top-tier fine-dining restaurant run by head chef Cha Woo-jin, played by Jang Ryul. In charge of appetizers, salads, and amuse-bouche, he schemes his way up the kitchen hierarchy and doesn’t shy away from flattery to win his boss’s approval. Fiercely competitive and occasionally unlikable, the character still has a human side that Kim plans to bring out in his own way.
Kim earned praise for his realistic acting across the “Shinbyung” series, including the recently concluded “Shinbyung 4: Sabotage,” and expanded his range in the drama “Chilling Romance.” On the big screen, he currently appears in “Tazza: Belzebub’s Song” and will meet audiences this winter in “Shinbyung: The Movie.”
“Final Table” premieres October 24 at 10:40 PM on JTBC.
