tvN’s 20th anniversary special drama ‘100 Days of Lies’ kicked off with a bang, peaking at 7.2% nationwide in its very first episode.
According to Sports Seoul, the Saturday-Sunday drama premiered on October 10 and immediately topped its time slot among all cable and general-programming channels. Episode 1 averaged 5.4% in the Seoul metropolitan area (peaking at 6.9%) and 5.3% nationwide, where it hit the 7.2% peak.
The series stars Kim Yoo-jung as Lee Ga-kyung, a pickpocket of 1932 Gyeongseong with lightning-fast hands and a gift for lying and acting, alongside Park Jin-young as Sato Hideo (also known as Kim Tae-woong), Kim Hyun-joo as Yoo So-ran, Lee Moo-saeng as Yoo Phillip, and Jin Sun-kyu as Sato Shinichi. A surprise special appearance by Kam Woo-sung in the first episode also caught viewers off guard.
The premiere opened in 1932 Gyeongseong, a city still waiting for spring: Ga-kyung collided with Hideo at Gyeongseong Station after stealing his wallet, while So-ran and Phillip — independence fighters posing as a married couple — moved forward with their plot to assassinate Sato Shinichi. Episode 1 closed on a tense standoff as Ga-kyung, Hideo, and a mysterious gunman crossed paths with assassination plans in motion.
Sports Seoul praised the 70-minute premiere for its detail-rich direction, tightly woven script, and the synergy of its trusted cast, noting the relentless twists kept viewers’ heart rates up. Episode 2 airs tonight (October 11) at 9:10 PM KST.
