tvN’s new weekend drama ‘100 Days of Lies’ is off to a strong start. The period spy romance premiered on October 10 to an average 5.4 percent viewership among households in the Seoul metropolitan area, ranking No. 1 in its time slot across cable and general programming channels.
According to Nielsen Korea figures cited by Herald Muse, the premiere averaged 5.3 percent nationwide with a 7.2 percent peak, while the Seoul broadcast peaked at 6.9 percent among paid-platform households.
The series is tvN’s 20th anniversary special project, directed by Yoo In Sik and written by Ryu Bo Ri, and is produced by Studio Dragon. Set in 1932 Gyeongseong, it stars Kim You Jung as pickpocket Lee Ga Kyung and GOT7’s Park Jinyoung as interpreter Kim Tae Woong, who also goes by Sato Hideo, alongside Kim Hyun Joo, Lee Moo Saeng, and Jin Seon Kyu.
The premiere set up the show’s central conflict: Lee Ga Kyung crosses paths with Sato Hideo at Gyeongseong Station, while independence fighters Yoo So Ran and Yoo Philip, posing as a married couple, plot to assassinate Sato Shinichi, the Government-General’s new political affairs chief. The episode ended on a cliffhanger, with a gunman holding Lee Ga Kyung hostage and a second assassin closing in on Sato Shinichi.
