Kim You Jung got off to a chaotic start in tvN’s new weekend drama “100 Days of Lies” on October 10, with her character caught mid-theft and literally crashing into Park Jin Young.
According to TV Daily, the premiere episode of the drama (written by Ryu Bo Ri, directed by Yoo In Sik) laid out the fateful first meeting between Lee Ga Kyung (Kim You Jung) and Kim Tae Woong (Park Jin Young).
In the episode, Ga Kyung was in the middle of stealing Yoo So Ran (Kim Hyun Joo)‘s luggage when she came close to being caught on the spot. She fled into a train in a hurry and collided hard with Tae Woong inside the carriage.
Cornered, Ga Kyung tried to play it cool, asking Tae Woong, “Are you Korean? I’m Japanese.” Tae Woong, who was holding a young girl in his arms, answered not a word and simply picked up her fallen hat and handed it back to her.
Ga Kyung then pointed out the exit to help him, but bristled at his dismissive attitude. “Are you ignoring me? With a fur muffler that thick, can you even walk on your own?” she grumbled.
Tae Woong shot back, asking if she had not seen the princess in the photograph, given the crowd that had come out to see them off. The two kept bowing and apologizing, until Tae Woong calmly dropped the twist: “She’s not a real princess.” The line left Ga Kyung completely dumbfounded.
The drama premiered tonight as tvN’s weekend series, and this head-on first meeting sets up a complicated relationship between the two leads going forward.
