Veteran actress Lee Mi-sook proved she is her own harshest critic this week, laughing off a new passport photo that came out looking — in her own words — “like a troll.”
According to a report by NewsEn’s Hwang Hye-jin, Lee shared the story in a video posted October 9 on her official YouTube channel, documenting a nostalgic trip to Sinheung Market with her older sister. Walking through the market and swapping old stories, she said long-forgotten childhood memories resurfaced one by one.
“It was a day when I briefly returned to that era,” she said, encountering both things that had changed and things that were still the same. After a relaxed break at a cafe, she headed to a photo studio. When the crew suggested taking the photo first and moving on, she joked, “Why? While I’m in good shape?”
The result fell short of her expectations. Looking at the finished photo, she said, “Why did I come out looking like a troll?” and added, “I really can’t take these kinds of photos, can I? I was shocked.”
The candid, self-deprecating moment offered a rare glimpse of the actress’s playful side on her personal channel, which has been chronicling her everyday life and outings with family.
