Lee Mi-sook proved she is the boss everyone wants to work for, opening her wallet to buy her entire staff brand-new outfits — a 742,000 won shopping spree she framed as a belated Chuseok gift.
The moment came in a video uploaded October 9 to her YouTube channel ‘Yimi Suk-Suk-Reoun Misuk-ssi,’ where Lee and her older sister toured Sinheung Market and revisited their childhood memories. According to TV Report’s October 10 column, a fan who runs a clothing shop at the market first asked Lee for a photo, then welcomed her into the store to browse.
Looking through the trendy racks, Lee turned to her staff and asked, ‘Want me to buy them for you?’ She then urged everyone to pick one item each, calling out, ‘Your noona will buy each of you a Chuseok gift — pick quickly.’ She even hand-picked an outfit for the director herself. When one staffer joked that she was only paying because the clothes were so cheap, Lee burst out laughing, and the staffer quickly apologized amid the laughter.
The final bill came to 742,000 won (roughly $530) — and Lee waved off any restraint, telling the staff to ‘buy more.’ As they thanked her, she explained, ‘I couldn’t give each of you a Chuseok gift.’
Lee also shared a personal reflection in the video: ‘At my age, I’m scared of getting sick. Waking up in the morning without pain is such happiness.’
