Ma Dong-seok Voices Master Gouken in Live-Action 'Street Fighter' Film Out October 14 cover

Ma Dong-seok is heading back to Hollywood. The Korean action star has joined the live-action “Street Fighter” film in a special appearance, voicing Gouken — the martial arts master of Ryu and Ken Masters.

According to TV Report, the casting news arrived alongside a greeting video Ma Dong-seok shared for Korean audiences, personally announcing his special appearance in the film.

In the movie, Gouken is the teacher who trained Ryu and Ken since their childhood, a figure deeply woven into the story’s past narrative and key to understanding the two fighters’ bond. Set in 1993, the film follows fated rivals Ryu and Ken Masters, reunited at Chun-li’s suggestion, as they confront a hidden conspiracy inside a life-or-death battle royal. The film is directed by Kitao Sakurai and stars Noah Centineo, Andrew Koji, Callina Liang, Roman Reigns, David Dastmalchian, Cody Rhodes, Andrew Schultz, Vidyut Jammwal, Eric Andre, 50 Cent and Jason Momoa.

Ma Dong-seok won over global audiences with “The Outlaws” series and Marvel’s “Eternals,” and the report frames this project as his continued Hollywood push following his Marvel debut, with his signature physicality and intense action set to bring a new charm to the voice role.

“Street Fighter” opens in theaters on October 14.
