Former Tiny-G member and “Reply 1994” actress Min Do Hee is heading to Canada. She revealed on her personal channel that she will leave for a language study program within a few weeks.
In a video posted September 30 on “Mini Do-hee,” filmed during a stroll along Seoul’s Seo Sun-ra street, she broke the news. According to MHN Sports, who first reported the story, she called it a dream she has held since childhood.
“I’m leaving for Canada in a few weeks. I’ve always dreamed of doing a language study program since I was little, and a good opportunity came along,” she said. She was honest about her nerves, too: “Honestly, it’s scary and I’m trembling — because I really can’t speak English at all.”
Asked whether she had been preparing with an app, she laughed: “Sorry. I made it two weeks, then I missed once.”
The trip follows a 15-month career gap she opened up about in July on SBS’s “My Ugly Duckling,” where she said she took part-time jobs to support herself. Co-star Yoo Yeon-seok teased that he had seen her making coffee and serving customers; her mother said working had lifted her self-esteem.
Min Do Hee debuted with Tiny-G in 2012 and became known overnight in 2013’s “Reply 1994” for her fluent Jeolla dialect. No return-to-work plans were announced — the Canada trip comes first.
