Na Young-seok PD is serving up another business-themed variety show. tvN’s “맛따라 길따라 대명이따라” (“Matgil-dae”) premieres October 23 at 8:35 PM, with a highlight video released ahead of the debut.
According to TenAsia, the new show arrives as the PD’s recent “우주떡집” drew harsh viewer criticism over the cast’s attitude toward running a business — putting extra scrutiny on whether the new series can earn a warmer reception.
Actor Kim Dae-myung takes charge as boss of “Haeparang Store,” a restaurant set up along the Haeparang-gil trekking course on the east coast. Drawing on recipes he picked up visiting restaurants across the country for his web variety series, he cooks for passing trekkers. Park Ji-hwan manages the dining hall while Gong Myung shuttles between the kitchen and the floor.
“As I talked with people about why they walk the Haeparang-gil, I came to understand their feelings a little,” Kim Dae-myung said in the preview, describing how serving trekkers and hearing their stories became the heart of the show.
The preview shows the trio preparing food together, taking orders, and chatting with guests over the counter.
