Park Eun-young has a new reason to bow — literally. The chef revealed that former football star Ahn Jung-hwan sent her a remarkably generous wedding gift, so now she greets him with a deep bow every time they cross paths.
According to Xports News, Park shared the story on October 6 in episode 18 of her YouTube show ‘밥은영,’ filmed with fellow chef Jung Ho-young on a seafood trip through Taebaek and Samcheok in Gangwon-do.
The wedding talk came up mid-trip. Park noted that chef Kwon Sung-joon had skipped her ceremony, while Jung Ho-young — who was in Taiwan at the time — still sent a thick envelope. “I received his heart,” she said, adding with a laugh that a guest she called Yoon Nam-no showed up, ate three steaks, and left.
Then came the Ahn Jung-hwan reveal. “MC Ahn Jung-hwan couldn’t come either,” Park said. “But he sent such a large amount. Since then, whenever I see Ahn at the cooking show, I really bow.” The two appear together on ‘Please Take Care of My Refrigerator’ (‘냉부’), where Ahn serves as MC.
Jung Ho-young agreed the gesture mattered more than attendance: “Just saying ‘thank you’ is enough, but some people don’t even do that. So exchanging greetings seems really important.”
Park married a plastic surgeon this past May. She works alongside Ahn as a chef on the cooking show, where their on-air dynamic continues to draw viewers.
For Park, the lesson is simple: a generous gift and a word of thanks go a long way — and Ahn’s envelope earned him a lifetime of bows.
