SBS Drops Lee Je-hoon and Ha Young's 'Seungsan Isseumnida' from First-Half 2027 Lineup Amid Ancestor Scandal cover

SBS has dropped “Seungsan Isseumnida” (승산 있습니다), the completed drama co-starring Lee Je-hoon and Ha Young, from its first-half 2027 lineup, as fallout from the controversy over Ha Young’s great-grandfather continues, TV Report reported on October 19.

“As this is a work created together by countless staff and cast members, we are carefully considering options from various angles,” SBS said on the 19th. No decision has been made on a second-half airdate.

The comic legal detective drama, a Korean remake of TV Asahi’s “Legal V,” stars Lee Je-hoon as office manager Kwon Baek and Ha Young as rookie lawyer Yeo Sim-hee. Filming was nearly done when the scandal broke in August and wrapped with her still in the cast; inside SBS, opinion split between editing her out and honoring the rest of the cast and crew’s work.

The controversy began when Ha Young called her family a “fourth-generation family of doctors” on a variety show. Viewers speculated her great-grandfather was Ahn Sang-ho, a colonial-era doctor accused of pro-Japanese acts. Her agency first called the claim “completely unfounded,” then confirmed his name was on a 1916 councilor list of the pro-Japanese Daejung Chinmokhoe and apologized. Ha Young also apologized and halted all activities.

The February slot goes to “Full Count,” a baseball drama about a fight over a team’s managerial post, starring Kim Rae-won and Park Hoon. Netflix has already moved on, recasting Ha Young’s “Trauma Code” role with former Lovelyz member Jung Ye-in and greenlighting Seasons 2 and 3 together.
