Super Junior's Kyuhyun Addresses Malicious Rumors and Thanks Fans in New Song cover

Super Junior’s Kyuhyun has finally addressed the malicious rumors that have trailed him for years, saying he has no intention of answering each one — and that he has instead poured his gratitude for his fans into his new song.

The singer opened up during an appearance on the YouTube channel “Sul Bitneun Yoon Joo-mo,” released on November 6, where he spoke candidly about his current life and his music, according to Sports Chosun. The conversation turned to the absurd rumors that have circulated about him online, and Kyuhyun did not shy away from the subject.

“As the world has changed so much, absurd malicious rumors keep appearing, and there are actually people who believe them,” Kyuhyun said. “Honestly, I don’t want to respond to those rumors one by one.”

Instead, he explained, he chose a different answer. “Still, there are so many fans who love me just as they always have. I put a message of gratitude for them into the lyrics,” he said, adding that his upcoming track carries the feelings he wants to share with the people who have stood by him.

The rumors Kyuhyun referred to are not new. In 2015, a baseless rumor linking him romantically to actor Uhm Ki-joon spread online, and in 2013 he was caught up in a claim that singer Lee Hong-gi had deliberately pushed him while he was unwell. Neither claim was ever substantiated, yet both have lingered in online discussion for more than a decade — a pattern familiar to many long-running K-pop idols whose every move is dissected by anonymous accounts.

Kyuhyun also revealed that the new song, set for release on November 11, marks a change of pace for him. “For the first time in a while, this is not a breakup song,” he said. “It is my heart that I want to convey to someone I love.” The track is the centerpiece of his new EP “Continue,” his latest solo release as he balances group activities with Super Junior and his solo career.

Rather than fighting each rumor as it appears, Kyuhyun made clear he would rather let the music speak. His message to fans was simple: their unwavering support is what the song is about, and it is the reason he keeps singing.
