TVXQ’s U-Know Yunho is under fire after a heated back-and-forth with a fan on Bubble, the paid messaging platform where idols chat directly with subscribers, following an absence of nearly two months.
According to MyDaily, screenshots of the exchange spread on an online community under a post contrasting Yunho with actor Lee Kwang-soo, who opened his own Bubble channel on October 1 and reportedly sends dozens of messages a day, briefly pushing the app to No. 1 on the App Store charts.
The fan wrote that Yunho’s last Bubble visit was in early May, arguing that if he had come even once a month, fans would not be this angry. The fan added that supporters were shocked he publicly called out the fan’s ID, and suggested he quit Bubble if the app was too much trouble, since subscribers simply would not renew.
Yunho fired back that he was coming to Bubble as much as he could and that this was his best effort, asking the fan not to provoke him for no reason. When the fan persisted, he replied that those who speak provocatively do not have to come, adding that this was not mutual respect and that they should stop there.
Reactions split down the middle. Critics called his wording too harsh for a paid service, with comments like only the fans are pitiful and if he is not going to come, he should just not do Bubble. Defenders countered that he stays for hour-long sessions when he does log on, hosts hour-long Instagram lives, and answers Weverse comments diligently.
