Celebrity fitness trainer Yang Chi-seung has opened up about a gym lease fraud that left him over 2 billion won in debt, breaking down in tears in a preview for the October 10 episode of KBS2’s ‘Salimnam 2’ (Men Who Do Housework 2).
According to a report by Newsen, the show’s preview showed singer Park Seo-jin and his sister Park Hyo-jung visiting the bakery Yang now runs. With few customers coming in for bread, Yang admitted business was tough — and the siblings stepped in to help him promote and sell.
“My debt is over 2 billion won,” Yang confessed in the preview. “I cried like crazy inside my helmet. My family is going through such a hard time,” he said tearfully. Park Seo-jin added that he had been shocked when he first heard what had happened to the trainer.
Yang said he fell victim to fraud in July 2024 after taking out a 400 million won mortgage loan to open a gym. He signed the lease believing Company A owned the property, only to learn later that the land belonged to the district office — a fact the company allegedly never disclosed. Ordered to vacate, he shut the gym down on July 25, 2025.
Including facility costs, refund costs, and legal fees, Yang put his total losses at roughly 2 billion won. The full story of his current life running the bakery is expected to air in the upcoming episode of ‘Salimnam 2.’
