Baek Ji-young has found a new dream — and it floats. The singer fell head over heels for a luxury yacht during a recent trip to Los Angeles, joking she could move aboard and raise her child there.
According to a NewsEN report, Baek uploaded a video to her channel on October 10 about the luxury yacht she “fell in love with after one ride in LA.” She had traveled to LA for a performance and boarded the yacht on an invitation ahead of rehearsal.
The yacht’s owner laid out the numbers: the price tag is $1.88 million, roughly 2.5 billion won, while monthly maintenance — including property tax — runs around $20,000, or about 27 million won. Fuel alone costs $5,000 per fill-up, about 6.7 million won.
When Baek kept guessing the prices correctly, her companions teased that she must have researched it in advance. She laughed: “I’m going to buy it. I’d eat, sleep, do everything here — raise my kid here.” On the $5,000 fuel figure, she joked, “It’s not 500 dollars, it’s 5,000 dollars. We should get off and chip in.”
When someone said it would have been nice if her child Haim had come along, Baek agreed, saying Haim “loves enjoying these luxurious things.”
Whether or not she actually buys a yacht, the LA outing gave fans another look at Baek’s unfiltered humor — and a reality check on what luxury at sea really costs.
