Yoon Hye-ri Signs Exclusive Contract with Barrel X Entertainment After 'Parasite' and 'Hospital Playlist' cover

Actress Yoon Hye-ri has signed an exclusive contract with Barrel X Entertainment, the agency announced on November 3, giving the screen and television performer a new home as she weighs her next project.

Yoon has built her career moving between film and television, developing a reputation for precise, understated performances. She drew early attention as Yejin, a character honest about her own feelings, in the film ‘Between Seasons,’ a role that earned her the Best New Actress prize at the 40th Golden Cinematography Awards and marked her as a talent to watch.

Her filmography since then has spanned some of Korean cinema’s most talked-about titles. She appeared in Bong Joon-ho’s ‘Parasite’ as well as in ‘Josee,’ and she played Yujin, an editor carrying past wounds, in director Kim Jong-kwan’s ‘Nobody’s Place,’ performing opposite Yeon Woo-jin with a restrained emotional register that critics noted.

On television, Yoon has been equally steady. She played thoracic surgery nurse So Yi-hyun across both seasons of tvN’s ‘Hospital Playlist,’ and she took on the role of violent crimes detective Jin Sa-kyung in MBC’s ‘365: Repeat the Year,’ showing a different, grounded side of her range in two very different ensemble dramas.

More recently, she appeared as prison officer Haerim in ‘Meeting House,’ the Song Ji-hyo-led film invited to the Korean Cinema section of the 26th Jeonju International Film Festival. The film was later selected for a screening in the National Assembly’s Culture Theater program, where Yoon attended alongside director Cha Jung-yoon to share behind-the-scenes stories from the production.

Barrel X Entertainment praised Yoon’s track record in its announcement, saying she is an actress who has brought her own color to a wide range of characters on the strength of solid acting skills. The agency added that it will spare no effort in fully supporting her so that her abilities and charm can shine across a variety of projects.

Yoon is currently reviewing her next work, according to the agency. Her signing comes as the actress, whose career has run from award-winning independent film to blockbuster cinema and long-running television hits, looks for the role that will define her next chapter.
