Park Na Rae's 'Injection Aunt' Hospitalized After Head Injury, Shares Cryptic 'Stay Alert' Post cover

The woman at the center of Park Na Rae’s illegal-medical-procedure scandal has said she was hospitalized after a head injury, sharing a video from a hospital bed on October 26 that drew attention in South Korea.

According to Herald Economy, the video shows the woman, identified only as A and widely known as the “injection aunt,” lying in a hospital bed with a large bandage on her head. She wrote that she had thought she could hold on, but that her body had sent a signal first.

“When I came to my senses, my head was torn open by 8 to 10 centimeters, and blood was pooled on the floor,” she wrote, as quoted by Herald Economy. She added that pretending to be fine was something she now needed to let go of, and that she wanted to live a life that protects herself. She closed the post with hashtags reading “stay alert,” “nothing in sight,” and “right eye not visible.”

Reports did not say how she was injured, and the circumstances remain unknown. Her remarks about her right eye were her own account in the post, not an independently confirmed medical assessment, Sports Seoul noted.

The post drew attention because of her social media activity during the investigation. Sports Seoul noted that after about nine hours of police questioning in February, she posted a message suggesting it was now other people’s turn, and that in May she hinted at further revelations about messages she said she had been asked to delete.

A is accused of performing illegal medical procedures on Park Na Rae and other celebrities without a medical license in South Korea, including intravenous drips in an officetel and in cars. Herald Economy reported she was investigated last year on charges including violations of the Medical Act, the Pharmaceutical Affairs Act, and the Narcotics Control Act.

The investigation has widened across the entertainment industry. Park Na Rae was questioned in May, followed by broadcaster Jeon Hyun Moo and SHINee’s Onew in June, and SHINee’s Key and a YouTuber in July. Those involved have said they believed she was a doctor or medical worker, while A has denied parts of the allegations she says are inaccurate.

No new police development linked to the hospitalization was reported, and no further official comment on her condition was available. How she was injured, and whether it will affect the investigation, remains unclear.
