Breaking: 'Jumong' Actor Ahn Yong-jun Sued Over Alleged ₩490 Million Investment Fraud cover

Actor Ahn Yong-jun, best known for playing Yuri in MBC’s hit drama “Jumong,” has been sued on suspicion of investment fraud totaling ₩489.63 million, Korea Ilbo reported on October 21 via MHN Sports.

The plaintiff, identified only as A, claims to have known Ahn for 20 years. Through legal representative Sim Law Firm, A filed a criminal complaint at the Busan Haeundae Police Station accusing Ahn of fraud, forgery of private documents, exercising forged documents, and forgery of signatures.

According to the complaint, Ahn allegedly solicited investments for concert, fan meeting, and album production businesses using forged contracts that borrowed a famous actor’s name and forged invoices — and never returned the funds. The claimed damage of ₩489.63 million reportedly includes money that A is now being asked to repay by third parties. A’s legal team said additional victims are likely and has asked investigators to look into that possibility. A separate civil damages lawsuit and an application for provisional seizure of claims are also underway.

Ahn’s former agency, Cremate Media, said it too is a victim and plans to file its own complaint soon. Ahn himself could not be reached for comment, and has not responded to outside contact, according to the report.

Ahn debuted in 2006 and rose to fame as Yuri in “Jumong.” He later appeared in dramas including “Sharp 3,” “God’s Quiz,” “Secret House,” and “Geumiya Okiya,” and films such as “Steel Dae-oh” and “How to Use Guys with Women.”

No official statement was available from Ahn at the time of reporting. The case is now in the hands of the police, and investigations will determine whether the allegations hold.
