Jung Woo-sung has stepped down as an inside director of Artist Company, the entertainment agency he co-founded with his longtime friend Lee Jung-jae. The move has renewed public scrutiny of the star’s private life, a year after he publicly acknowledged fathering a child out of wedlock.
According to Sports Kyunghyang, which reported the news on October 9, Jung resigned from the board on October 2. The two stars were appointed inside directors together on March 29, 2024, with their terms originally set to run through March 28, 2027.
Jung’s shareholding in the company remains unchanged. He holds 1,714,108 shares, or 10.99 percent, while Lee Jung-jae retains 4,225,882 shares, or 27.10 percent.
The resignation has revived attention on Jung’s personal life. In November 2024, he confirmed he is the biological father of the son born to model Moon Gabi, a revelation that sparked an out-of-wedlock child controversy. At the Blue Dragon Film Awards, he told the audience that “as a father, I will fulfill my responsibility to my son to the end.”
Moon Gabi had shared her daily life on social media, but her posts stopped about 11 months ago. In her final post, she said she had never published any photo or video showing her child’s face, and urged people to stop spreading false images and videos that distort their everyday life, warning that such acts violate the law.
No official statement was available regarding the resignation.
It remains to be seen what, if any, changes the move signals for his business partnership with Lee Jung-jae.
