Park Bo-gum has signed on as the narrator of ‘Shall We Run,’ the film documenting singer Sean’s year-long run through all seven World Marathon Majors. The movie opens exclusively at Megabox on October 16.
According to MHN Sports, the film follows Sean from start line to finish line across Tokyo, Boston, London, Berlin, Chicago, New York and Sydney. It focuses on why he runs rather than on records.
The journey was anything but easy. Sean lined up in London just six days after finishing Boston, ran 81.5 km on Liberation Day, then took on Sydney about two weeks later. He lost toenails and injured his Achilles tendon in the middle of it all, but he never stopped.
Sean said running with people who each carry their own story filled him with overwhelming happiness, and that the challenge made him love running even more.
The run doubled as charity. His total of 295.365 km translated into a 295,365,000-won donation to Korea Habitat for a housing project for descendants of independence patriots, marking 80 years since Korea’s liberation. He also kept up his annual 81.5-km ‘815 Run’ on Liberation Day, with his four children joining the final 8.15 km.
Park Bo-gum fits naturally: he is a member of Sean’s celebrity running crew, Unknown Crew, and completed the Berlin Marathon himself after Sean suggested the challenge about three months ago.
The film promises a look at the injuries and the people that kept Sean moving through seven finish lines.
