Breaking: Kim Gura's Son Gree Undergoes Surgery After Rupturing ACL in Futsal Game cover

Rapper Gree, the son of veteran broadcaster Kim Gura, has revealed that he underwent surgery for a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament (ACL).

According to Maeil Business on October 16, Gree shared the news himself through a video titled “I Had Surgery… My Girlfriend’s Hospital Visit,” posted on his YouTube channel ‘Kim Gree’ the same day.

Gree explained that the injury happened while playing futsal with the male cast members of a play he recently joined, when he attempted to show off a trick and his knee gave way with an audible pop, tearing the ligament.

Gree admitted he was rattled beforehand: apart from endoscopy sedation, he had never been under general anesthesia or had major surgery, leaving him too nervous to sleep the night before.

“I have bad news. My anterior cruciate ligament ruptured,” he said in the video, adding that he was heading in for suture surgery that day. After the successful operation, he joked about his empty hospital room: “Why is no one visiting me? They said my dad, my stepmom, and my girlfriend would all come” — before laughing that his girlfriend was on her way, and that he had told her not to come anyway since he would be discharged the next day.

His girlfriend did visit, asking if there was anything he wanted to eat and looking after him as he began his recovery. Gree is expected to rest, while details of his rehabilitation schedule remain undisclosed.
