Broadcaster Jang Sung-kyu has showered praise on A2O LITE’s Chinese member Aijing, calling her debut “shocking” in a social media post shared on October 16.
According to Sports Chosun, Jang uploaded a screenshot of Aijing’s music show performance to his personal SNS on the 16th, captioning it “Shocking debut.”
Jang wrote that the feeling was “similar to the shock I felt when BoA debuted,” adding, “Even her name is cute, girl #Aijing.” He also noted that Aijing, born in 2013, is just one year older than his own son Hajun. Turning to the rookie group’s chart performance, he wrote, “No. 1 on Melon one day after debut! A legend begins.”
Never one to skip a joke, Jang added an apology alongside the praise: “But I keep hearing the song lyrics as ‘divorce and no-marriage,’ sorry about that,” poking fun at his own misheard lyrics.
A2O LITE is the first girl group from A2O Entertainment, the agency newly established by former SM Entertainment chief producer Lee Soo-man. The group topped Melon’s main TOP100 chart about 29 hours after debut with “NEON,” drawing major attention.
Jang’s post adds to the growing buzz around Lee Soo-man’s new girl group as their debut promotions continue.
