Rapper Yang Hong-won’s agency AP Alchemy has denied cheating allegations, confirming that he did go to a motel with another woman but insisting no intimate acts took place. The official statement was posted on the agency’s SNS on October 23, days after Yang’s wedding.
According to Hankook Ilbo’s October 24 report, the claims came from an exposer identified as “A,” who said he was an acquaintance of Yang. A alleged in SNS posts and a live broadcast that Yang had gone to a lodging establishment with another woman, publishing her photos and call records.
AP Alchemy said Yang had been casually in touch with A after meeting by chance. After a performance, the group drank at A’s home, but A suddenly demanded they leave for a motel of his choosing. Yang fell asleep immediately upon entering the room, the agency said; the woman later tried to wake him, felt uncomfortable with physical contact, and went home with A instead.
The agency stated, “The exposer A’s claims differ from the facts, and the materials A presented are the result of malicious editing.” It added: “There was not a single affectionate act in the room, and no money was paid in response to the exposer’s monetary demands.”
AP Alchemy accused A of extortion, saying he threatened both Yang and the woman with the edited conversations. Yang and the woman have each filed criminal complaints against A for extortion, violation of the stalking punishment law, and defamation by false facts.
