BTS member Jungkook has topped the real-time trends on X in four South American countries at the same time during the group’s South America tour, with a Lionel Messi No. 10 jersey moment in Buenos Aires driving much of the online buzz.
Sports Dong-A reported on October 28 that Jungkook reached No. 1 on X’s real-time trends simultaneously in Argentina, Peru, Colombia and Chile. The simultaneous showing spanned four separate national trend lists at once, rather than a single-country spike tied to one concert night.
The report linked the surge to the closing stretch of BTS’s South America run. The tour stops moved through Bogota in Colombia, Lima in Peru and Santiago in Chile before reaching Buenos Aires in Argentina, and the four-country peak came into focus around the Argentina performances.
In Argentina, Jungkook greeted the crowd in Spanish with a local expression praising the audience, a moment that quickly spread on social media. He also performed wearing an Argentina national team jersey carrying Messi’s No. 10, a visual fans immediately connected to the football star and to Argentina’s football identity.
Fan reactions added to the spread. Supporters in Colombia and Peru, fans in Chile and fans in Argentina each used different affectionate nicknames for Jungkook, while some online posts jokingly suggested giving him local citizenship or a local name. A past video from a Los Angeles show also resurfaced on X, drawing fresh attention from viewers who said they were only now discovering his stage presence.
The jersey moment carried a longer backstory. Jungkook performed “Dreamers,” the official soundtrack song for the 2022 Qatar World Cup, on the tournament’s opening stage, and Argentina went on to win that World Cup. That history gave the Buenos Aires moment an extra layer of meaning for fans following the tour.
MTV Brazil’s official X account also weighed in, praising Jungkook as the group’s “Golden Maknae” and suggesting fans would not tire of watching him even after hours. The post underlined how the tour moment travelled beyond the concert venue into regional entertainment coverage.
No new music release or official announcement was attached to the trend surge, which the report framed as touring momentum rather than a chart result. BTS’s South America leg is set to continue in Sao Paulo, Brazil, which the report identified as the next stop.
