Choi Woo-shik's Agency Denies Flight Attendant Power Abuse Claims and Warns of Legal Action cover

Choi Woo-shik’s agency has denied viral claims that the actor behaved rudely toward a flight attendant, calling the online posts false and warning that it will take legal action against those spreading them.

FABLE COMPANY, the actor’s agency, issued an official statement on November 6 through its official social media accounts, saying it was responding to false information about Choi Woo-shik that has been circulating primarily on Threads. The statement came after a post by a netizen claiming to be a flight attendant went viral earlier this week.

In the post, the writer claimed they approached Choi Woo-shik on a flight to take his meal order after greeting him, and that the actor grew annoyed and snapped at the manager beside him, saying, ‘Hey, what are you doing? They’re talking to me.’ The writer said they did not recognize the actor at first and only realized who he was afterward. The post spread quickly online, drawing criticism of the actor — but also doubts from other netizens about whether the account could be verified.

FABLE COMPANY rejected the claims outright. ‘Indiscriminately posting content that is not based on fact, or maliciously distorting and exaggerating it to create and spread rumors, is a clear illegal act that seriously infringes upon the actor’s honor and rights,’ the agency said in its statement. The company added that it has been continuously monitoring the posts in question and the channels spreading them, and is collecting related evidence.

The agency said it plans to take legal action not only against those who first write or spread false information, but also against those who reproduce and further disseminate it. It added that it will apply the same principles to false information, malicious slander, and defamation targeting not only Choi Woo-shik but all actors under its management.

Choi Woo-shik is one of Korea’s most internationally recognized film actors, best known for his roles in the Oscar-winning Parasite and the blockbuster Train to Busan, as well as recent dramas including Melo Movie and A Killer Paradox. He is set to return to television next year in tvN’s Whale Star, where he will play an independence activist opposite Moon Ga-young.

The agency did not say when legal proceedings would begin, and it remains to be seen whether the original poster will respond to the warning.
