ZICO drew the line at chicken testicles. On the October 13 episode of SBS Plus and MBN’s travel variety show “Sangnamja’s Travel Tips in Taiwan,” the singer came face to face with a table of Taiwan’s most extreme health foods — and the final dish finally broke him.
According to a report by AtStar1, episode 2 followed Choo Sung-hoon, Kim Jong-kook, and ZICO as they traveled between Taichung and Chiayi, sampling local dishes along the way. Their destination was a restaurant that won the 2015 Chiayi County gourmet cooking contest — where the menu listed frogs, crickets, ants, and field rats, reminding the trio of the insect vending machine from their earlier Kyushu trip.
The meal opened with fried crickets and black ant pancakes before a roughly 500-gram field rat dish arrived at the table. ZICO hesitated but eventually tasted it. The final course was a chicken testicle dish, and a round of rock-paper-scissors left Choo Sung-hoon eating the biggest piece after his co-stars ladled out the broth.
ZICO, avoiding eye contact with the last dish, admitted: “Even in war, I don’t think I could eat this.”
The show is a hit in Taiwan itself — the production team says it topped local OTT FriDay Video for six straight days and cracked Wavve’s TOP10. The previous Kyushu season spent three weeks at No. 1 on FriDay Video, prompting the team to film this expanded 8-episode season across Taiwan’s smaller cities. New episodes air Tuesdays at 9:40 p.m. KST on SBS Plus and MBN.
