Former Apink member Hong Yoo-kyung is about to become a mother, with her first son expected to arrive as early as this Thursday, October 29.

According to a TV Report article published on October 27, the delivery date, originally expected in November, has been moved up. Hong herself shared the update on her personal social media account on October 26, posting photos from what she called her last supper before the birth.

In the post, Hong wrote that her baby, whom she affectionately calls Ddangdangi, might come out as early as this Thursday. The photos showed gopchang grilling on a hot plate, followed by fried rice to finish the meal. She added that she will not be able to eat grilled food outside for a while, writing that she had neatly cleared the fried rice as well.

Ddangdangi is the first child of Hong and her husband, whom she married in 2023. Hong announced the pregnancy after reaching 16 weeks, telling fans at the time that a pretty baby had come to her and that she had finally entered a stable stage of pregnancy where she could share the news. She chose the nickname Ddangdangi to carry the wish that the child grows up boldly. In June, about five months after that announcement, she revealed the baby is a boy, saying that although many people had guessed she was having a daughter, she had become a boy’s mom. At 30 weeks, she shared maternity photos, writing that she was happy to preserve memories with Ddangdangi.

Hong debuted as a member of Apink in 2011 and performed on early tracks including “I Don’t Know” and “Bubibu.” She left the group in 2013 to focus on her studies, later completing a master’s program in clothing at Seoul National University’s graduate school. Since then, she has worked as a fashion designer and fashion businesswoman. In October 2023, she married a dermatologist.

With the due date now moved up from November, Hong’s first meeting with her son could come within days. No agency statement accompanied the update, which Hong shared directly with fans through her own account.
