GOT7 member and actor Park Jin-young is enjoying a double surge on the charts and on television, with his solo track entering Melon’s main chart just as his weekend drama reached a new ratings high.
According to Newsen, Park’s “One-sided Love (feat. Choi Yu-ri)” entered Melon’s TOP100 at No. 100 on the morning of November 2. The song is from his second solo mini album, “Said & Done,” released in May. It did not enter the chart at release, but climbed into the TOP100 about five months later, a delayed run that Newsen presented as evidence of growing public interest in Park as a vocalist.
The chart entry follows another slow-burn success. On May 29, Park appeared as a guest on singer Choi Yu-ri’s YouTube channel and performed a live duet with her. That video has passed 31 million views in about five months and also went on to reverse-chart on music platforms, according to the report.
Park’s recent music-show appearance added to the momentum. On October 30, he performed on KBS 2TV’s late-night program “The Seasons,” hosted by Sung Si-kyung, where he unveiled the live stage for “EVERLOVE,” the title track of “Said & Done,” for the first time on broadcast. He had been unable to promote on music shows when the album came out in May because of his drama filming schedule. The report said Sung Si-kyung praised his singing, and that combined views for Park’s performance clips on KBS’s official YouTube channel have passed 4 million.
On screen, Park plays Sato Hideo, also known as Kim Tae-woong, in tvN’s Saturday-Sunday drama “100 Days of Lies,” which premiered on October 10. The character is caught between Korean and Japanese identities. The drama rose from 5.3% nationwide for its first episode to 9.8% for its eighth episode on November 1, according to Nielsen Korea figures cited by Newsen.
The timing matters because Park’s concert run is imminent. He will open his “2026-27 PARK JINYOUNG 1st CONCERT TOUR [CODE#]” with shows in Seoul on November 7 and 8, before taking the tour to Osaka, Manila, Tokyo, Taipei, Bangkok, and Macau, for seven cities in total. Park debuted as an actor in KBS 2TV’s “Dream High 2” in January 2012 and joined GOT7 in January 2014, and his previous tvN drama has also drawn renewed attention alongside the current run.
