Hong Jin-young Posts AI-Generated Clip of Lookalike Dancing on Table, Jokes Her Face Is 'Too AI-Resistant' cover

Singer Hong Jin-young has joined the hottest trend on social media — AI-generated videos of herself. There’s just one problem: she says it doesn’t look like her.

On October 11, Hong posted the clip to her Instagram with an honest caption, as reported by Newsen reporter Hwang Hye-jin: “I saw a lot of people doing this, so I tried it too. It doesn’t look like me.”

The video shows a woman resembling Hong climbing onto a table and breaking into a dance. Despite appearances, it wasn’t actually the singer — the entire clip was generated by AI.

Hong leaned into the joke with her hashtags, writing “AI 안 먹히는 얼굴인가” — roughly, “Is my face too AI-resistant?” — alongside “테크토닉” (tectonic), a nod to the sharp, angular dance style in the clip.

The post landed on October 11 and quickly caught the attention of Korean entertainment press, with Newsen picking up the story the next morning.

Whether AI gets her face right or not, Hong’s experiment shows that even top stars can’t resist the trend taking over everyone’s feeds.
