Two grooms are in the doghouse on ‘Contract Marriage.’ Tonight’s episode sees Kang Jung-hwan and Choi Jung-hyun facing a ‘husbands in crisis’ moment, as heavy drinking and cigarette smell shake their trial marriages.

According to Xports News, the episode airs October 12 at 10:30 p.m. KST on KBS Joy and MBC Every1. The Nam Gyu-hong-produced reality show lets singles eager to marry experience married life through a contract before tying the knot.

Jung-hwan, a Seattle-based Boeing employee from the 16th divorced-singles season, overdoes it on a movie-night drink date with Yu-jin. She dozes off early, he keeps pouring, and she wakes to his drunken phone call — then mothers him through the night. Her verdict the next day: ‘One should control one’s own drinking,’ adding that blacking out is ‘honestly a turn-off.’

Jung-hyun, the 32nd season’s accountant Young-su, has a smell problem instead. Partner Min-hyun catches cigarette odor on a towel and even on an eye mask he gave her the day before, admitting it ‘suddenly felt real.’ The pressure breaks him in an interview: ‘I tried not to cry,’ he sobs, ‘it could be an inferiority complex or something…’

The production team says the cast’s raw honesty is fueling viewer interest, promising deeper immersion as the two couples face each other’s real lives. Whether the tears bring the couples closer or drive them apart airs tonight.
