BELIFT LAB announced on October 29 that ILLIT members Wonhee and Iroha sustained ankle injuries during recent schedules and have been receiving treatment as they recover.
According to OSENâs report, the agency shared the news through ILLITâs official channel the same day: âWonhee and Iroha sustained ankle injuries during recent schedules and have been receiving treatment, and are currently recovering.â
The injuries will affect the groupâs stage plans right away. For todayâs appearance at the Yonsei University festival, the agency said it will take the membersâ condition and the outdoor stage environment into account, adjusting formations and choreography in part if necessary. âWe ask for the generous understanding of everyone who has been waiting for the stage,â BELIFT LAB said, adding that the company âwill do its best to support their recovery so that the artists can continue their activities in a healthy and safe manner.â
The announcement comes just three days into ILLITâs comeback. The group released its fifth mini album âBREAK EVENâ on October 26, led by the title track âYouâre Under Arrest,â an electro-pop song built around a bright whistle hook that delivers a bold warning to someone who mistakes habitual kindness for something more. OSEN notes that the lyrics, which list out âcriminal evidence,â connect to storylines from the groupâs earlier work, adding an extra layer for fans following the groupâs narrative.
It is the second ankle-injury announcement for the group in less than two weeks. On October 18, BELIFT LAB said Iroha had sprained her ankle during rehearsal for ILLITâs encore concert at Incheon Inspire Arena, adding that her stage participation would be decided flexibly to protect the artist. The group is also promoting without Moka, who remains on hiatus to focus on her health, making the adjusted festival stage a closely watched moment for fans.
For now, ILLIT will continue its comeback schedule with adjusted stages while Wonhee and Iroha recover, with fans watching for further updates on both membersâ condition and whether the choreography changes extend to upcoming music show appearances.
