ILLIT is getting the doll treatment again. BELIFT LAB announced on November 6 that the group’s fifth mini album, ‘BREAK EVEN,’ will receive a special ‘Little Mimi’ version on December 30, reimagining the members as pocket-sized doll keyrings dressed as the black agents from the title track ‘You’re Under Arrest.’
The edition turns the album itself into a collectible. According to Sports Kyunghyang, the ‘Little Mimi’ version is built around a doll keyring modeled on the domestic character Little Mimi, and it comes with a mini CD, a lyric sheet, three photocards, and stickers. The dolls borrow their look from the ‘black agent’ concept of the ‘You’re Under Arrest’ music video, with ribbons and frills added to the undercover styling. According to allkpop, all five members — Yunah, Minju, Moka, Wonhee, and Iroha — are reimagined as Little Mimi dolls in the new edition.
BELIFT LAB said the design keeps the music video’s undercover concept front and center. ‘We added details such as ribbons and frills to the black-agent visuals of ILLIT in the music video,’ the agency said, adding that the dolls pair with the whistle keyring and charms released earlier as ‘BREAK EVEN’ merchandise, so fans can mix and match the pieces to their own taste. The label said the edition is designed to raise both the listening value and the collectible value of the album, and asked fans to show it plenty of interest.
This is ILLIT’s second collaboration with Little Mimi. The group first paired with the character for their first single album, ‘NOT CUTE ANYMORE,’ whose doll version packaged a member keyring doll with a mini CD and a photocard set in six variants, including a harder-to-find hidden edition. That version sold out early during its pre-order period, prompting additional production — an early sign that the doll format was more than a one-off gimmick.
For fans who missed the first doll version, the December 30 release is a second chance to own the format — this time dressed in the black-agent styling that has defined the ‘BREAK EVEN’ era.
The ‘Little Mimi’ edition continues a run of unconventional physical releases from ILLIT. The group previously issued their third mini album in the form of in-ear earphones and their fourth mini album as a gua sha ceramic object, turning each comeback’s packaging into part of the concept itself. The doll and keyring formats, once treated as novelties, have since grown into a real sales category for the group.
The timing is no accident. ‘BREAK EVEN,’ released on October 26, is in the middle of the strongest run of ILLIT’s career so far. The album sold 444,072 copies in its first week on the Hanteo Chart, a personal best for the group, after moving 382,991 copies on its first day alone. The title track ‘You’re Under Arrest’ then debuted at No. 1 globally and No. 3 in the United States on Spotify’s Top Song Debut chart for October 30 to November 1, while album closer ‘Pop’ landed at No. 4 globally on the same chart despite having no video or separate promotion behind it.
Across its four tracks — ‘Super in Love,’ ‘More,’ ‘You’re Under Arrest,’ and ‘Pop’ — the mini album plays like a sequel to the group’s earlier love songs, told from the other side of a romance that felt mutual but turned out to have been one-sided, with lyrics circling back to moments from songs like ‘Cherish (My Love)’ and ‘jellyous’ with the shine worn off.
Releasing another edition while the standard versions are still charting underlines how strongly the physical album is selling. Between doll versions, pouch versions, and photobook versions, BELIFT LAB has given fans no shortage of ways to own ‘BREAK EVEN’ — and the ‘Little Mimi’ edition, arriving December 30, adds the most collectible option yet.
