Singer Seo In-young is preparing to return to music as a solo artist, with a new solo album in the works, according to an exclusive report from Maeil Business Star Today published on October 30.
The report says Seo is currently working on music with the goal of releasing a solo album. A specific release date has not yet been decided, and she has recently begun sourcing songs, taking time to find a musical color that suits her after such a long break from solo releases. No track list, title, or release window has been confirmed so far.
The outlet describes Seo as a singer known for her husky, distinctive tone and powerful vocals. In dance tracks she delivers strong energy, while in ballads she leans on an emotive voice — a range that has defined her solo work since she branched out from her group career.
Her last mini-album was “SIY,” released in November 2015. She followed it with singles in 2018, including “Close Your Eyes” and “Are You Comfortable?”, which showcased her as a vocalist. The new project would mark her first major solo music effort since those releases, roughly eight years on.
Seo debuted in 2002 as a member of Jewelry, building her career across both group and solo activities. She launched her solo career in earnest with her first solo album in 2007, and her 2008 solo hit “Cinderella” cemented her public profile as a solo star in her own right.
The comeback news follows a busy run of stage appearances this year. In August, she performed at Waterbomb Sokcho 2026, singing “Cinderella” and other signature songs, and in September she reunited on stage with her fellow Jewelry members for a full-group performance after nearly 20 years.
For now, the comeback remains in preparation, and fans will be waiting on the next concrete detail: a release date. With song sourcing only recently under way, further announcements on the album’s direction are expected as the work progresses.
