Ji Chang-wook Goes from City Planner to Strawberry Farmhand in Episode 2 of 'Merry Berry Love' cover

Ji Chang-wook is trading his city slicker image for a straw hat. The second episode of CJ ENM’s “Merry Berry Love,” released October 14, shows his character transformed from a top space planner into a strawberry farmhand.

The drama has been climbing charts worldwide since its premiere. According to a report by MHN Sports, it reached No. 2 on Disney+‘s global TV show chart in its first week and entered the Top 10 in 73 countries and regions, per FlixPatrol.

“Merry Berry Love” follows Korean space planner Lee Yoo-bin (Ji Chang-wook) and Japanese woman farmer Shirahama Karin (Imada Mio) in a cross-border romance set on a beautiful island. The role is Ji Chang-wook’s first romantic comedy in three years, mixing sly comic acting with romance.

Episode 2 picks up where the October 7 premiere left off: once at the top of his industry, Yoo-bin lost everything overnight after a friend’s betrayal. Seeking a comeback on Charoseom, he gets off on the wrong foot with Karin, who mistakes him for a strawberry thief.

The production team said the new episode shows “Yoo-bin’s new life after suddenly becoming unemployed,” adding that “the relationship between Yoo-bin and Karin, which began with a misunderstanding, will enter a new phase,” and asking viewers to watch their strawberry-field romance.

“Merry Berry Love” airs every Wednesday on Disney+ and Japan’s Nippon TV, with episode 2 now streaming.
