Broadcaster Jiyeon Soo has said she has changed her mind about remarriage, six years after her divorce from U-KISS member Eli, telling viewers she is now open to meeting someone and marrying again if the right person comes along.
The remarks were reported by Xports News on October 26, based on a video posted to Jiyeon Soo’s YouTube channel on October 19. She said she previously had no thought of remarrying or meeting anyone, but her view has changed and she is now open to both. The condition she set was a family one: remarriage would make sense if she could build a good family with someone who suits both her and her son.
Health was central to her reasoning. She said she would need to be healthy for remarriage to be possible, and that getting a health checkup before marriage had crossed her mind. In the same video she described receiving physical therapy, saying the muscles in her legs had become stuck and her neck and back were affected after years of nonstop work her body could no longer keep up with.
The video was framed around a work milestone, record shopping-live sales with subscriber support, not a personal announcement. When the production team suggested she rest, noting she had hired part-time help, she said she could not afford to rest because she needed to make a living. The remarriage remarks came from that wider conversation about work and health.
She also described her ideal type: someone who has completed military service, is a high school graduate, does not drink, does not act recklessly, and is careful in how they behave. She named no individual and suggested no wedding or relationship is in progress; what she described was a change of heart, not a new partner.
The background explains why the remarks drew attention. She married Eli in 2014, and the couple have a son, Minsoo. News of their divorce came in 2020. In 2022 they appeared together on TV Chosun’s “We Got Divorced 2” but did not reunite, which is why openness to remarriage now reads as a genuine shift.
No agency statement is involved, and none would be expected for a remark on her own channel. She has announced no relationship or wedding date, only that a door once closed is now open, with health and family fit first.
