TVING has confirmed the cast of its upcoming original series “The Obedient Killer,” with Kim Da Mi leading an ensemble that also includes Jo Bo Ah, Jo Aram, Kim Jae Wook, and Nam Yoon Su. The noir action drama is set for release in 2027, according to a report by Herald Muse on October 29.
The series follows Go Dal Bun, played by Kim Da Mi, a woman whose only plan in life was to become a devoted wife and mother. After her divorce, she enters a suspicious job market to bring back her young daughter, and discovers an unexpected talent there.
Kim Da Mi’s character is known by the code name “Miss Go.” Jo Bo Ah plays “Miss Lee,” the ace and leader of the so-called “Ugly Trio,” who has given up much to become the best and hardened her body and mind in the process. Jo Aram plays “Miss Gye,” the trio’s mood maker and troublemaker, nicknamed the “fighting chicken” for an unpredictable personality that adds energy to the story.
Kim Jae Wook joins in a special appearance as “Manager Cha,” always gentle yet impossible to read, a taciturn gentleman whose soft manner hides a mystery. Nam Yoon Su rounds out the cast as a pure and eager rookie detective, a newcomer set against the more hardened operatives around him.
Behind the camera, the series is written by Joo Hwa Mi and directed by Lee Jung Heum, with Kang Eun Kyung as creator. Lee previously directed “Inspector Koo” and “Our Movie,” Joo wrote “The Atypical Family,” and Kang created “Gyeongseong Creature.” It is produced by KT Studio Genie and Gline, with Fantagio as co-producer.
What stands out is the reversal at the story’s heart: Go Dal Bun does not seek danger, but a collapsed life plan pushes her into work she never intended to take, and that job becomes her route back to her daughter. No more specific premiere date was given, and no additional statement from TVING was quoted. For now, the confirmed ensemble and the 2027 window are the clearest picture yet of the series.
