Kim Feel has returned with his second full-length album, “JOURNEY,” released on October 29 at 6 p.m. KST through various online music sites. The album’s title track is “Life Is Life,” and the release marks his first full-length album in about seven years, according to reports from allkpop and Yonhap.
“JOURNEY” contains nine tracks: “5am,” “a sign,” “Mirror,” “Chuck,” “Life Is Life,” “Circle,” “To Be Free,” “Into You (feat. Park Ji Yoon),” and “Old Friends.” Kim Feel released “To Be Free” and “Circle” in advance, describing the pair as a turning point in the album that shows the narrator’s closed heart gradually opening up.
In a Q&A released through WAKEONE, Kim Feel said, “Seven years have passed before I knew it. I never took a break from my activities, but I always had a full-length album in mind. I wanted to release one when I felt confident enough in myself.” He added that he was relieved to deliver his second full-length album this year so that his fans would not have to wait any longer.
Explaining the album’s title, he said, “Through this album, I wanted to capture the many scenes, emotions, moments, and landscapes we encounter on the journey of life. When I put the stories of all nine tracks together, I thought ‘JOURNEY’ was the most fitting title.”
The title track carries that idea in its simplest form. “Life Is Life” is about calmly accepting that life is simply life, singing about a balance that is neither too grand nor too monotonous. Kim Feel said, “I didn’t want to express it too heavily, but I didn’t want it to be too light either. I made the song while trying to find the right balance between the two.”
The gap since his first full-length album, “yours, sincerely,” released in 2019, is the key context for this comeback: Kim Feel himself said he never took a break from his activities, but waited until he felt confident enough to make another full-length album. Rather than offering grand comfort, he said he hopes listeners simply feel that someone else has had the same thoughts and feelings, and that the songs stay with them on their own journeys.
Following the album release, Kim Feel will hold his solo concert “2026 Kim Feel Concert JOURNEY” on November 14 and 15 at Blue Square Woori WON Banking Hall in Seoul.
