Kim Hyun Joo is looking back at her rookie years with rare honesty. In an October 11 appearance on Jung Jae Hyung’s YouTube channel “Yojung Jaehyung,” the actress admitted she once carried real resentment toward her agency, saying she had “a lot of anger” back then.
According to SPOTV News, the episode featured Kim alongside her tvN drama “100 Days of Lies” co-stars Lee Moo Saeng and Jin Seon Kyu. Jung recalled her debut era: “You were a real goddess in our time. Didn’t you debut in a Kim Hyun Chul music video? Back then, not just anyone got to shoot a music video.”
Kim confirmed she was a magazine model when a single photo cut led directly to her casting. With no agency at first, she spent her debut years handling schedules alone and appearing on many variety shows to fill spots senior artists could not.
“There were places the seniors couldn’t go, so I had to go a lot,” she said. “Back then I didn’t know to be grateful, and that was my complaint. The company didn’t shape me well, and I had a lot of anger. I won’t deny it.”
Jin Seon Kyu remarked she seems nothing like that today. “I have no anger at all now,” she replied. Kim added she felt she was losing herself, which is why she deliberately rested for years and avoided variety shows to walk the path of an actress.
