Actor Kim Seung-soo found love on national television on Sunday night, leaving SBS’s “My Little Old Boy” as a final couple with blind date Park Hye-yeon.
The October 18 broadcast followed Kim and fellow actor Song Jong-ho through a cohabitation-style blind date with one strict rule: a match only counts if both sets of parents give their permission. When the final choices were revealed, Kim said he had made “what I think is a wise decision” — and named Park as his pick.
The result came with a twist. Park had also been chosen by Song Jong-ho, who picked her even though fellow participant Min Ji-soo had selected him. In the end, Park went with Kim — a turn that stunned the studio, where Seo Jang-hoon gasped “What a twist” and the panel broke into cheers.
The couple then received blessings from their respective parents, sealing a hard-won happy ending.
Kim, 55, previously appeared on the show last year in a flirtatious “some” relationship with his close colleague Yang Jung-ah, but the two never became a real couple.
Whether Kim and Park will continue dating off camera remains to be seen. No official statement was available.
