Kim Yoo-jung’s Lee Ga-kyung became a spy for the independence movement in episode 3 of tvN’s ‘100 Days of Lies,’ infiltrating the Government-General of Korea disguised as interpreter trainee Geum Seo-hee — and deflecting Park Jin-young’s suspicion with a fake love confession.
Herald Muse reported on October 18 that the previous night’s episode follows Ga-kyung’s deal with Yu So-ran (Kim Hyun-joo): promised passage to America in exchange for becoming the independence fighters’ new mole inside the Government-General. The episode was also covered by SPOTV News, Sports World, and Ilgan Sports.
There she reunites with senior interpreter Sato Hideo — secretly Kim Tae-woong (Park Jin-young), the political affairs chief’s son. Pressing her with “Have you ever told the truth instead of a lie?” he offers: “Tell me the truth just once, and I’ll accept you as my colleague.” She fires back without hesitation, “I like you, ever since we first met” — which was, of course, another lie.
Her first mission — stealing Sato Shinichi’s (Jin Seon-kyu) schedule — succeeds, but ends with a gun to her head in a dark alley and a voice hissing, “You’re a spy, aren’t you? Geum Seo-hee — no, Lee Ga-kyung.” Episode 3 averaged 7.5% in the Seoul metropolitan area (peaking at 9.2%) and 7.0% nationwide (peaking at 8.9%), topping its time slot across cable and general programming, per Nielsen Korea.
No official statement was available. Episode 4 airs tonight at 9:10 p.m. KST, with Ga-kyung’s cover already blown.
