Kwon Oh-jung Celebrates Wife's Birthday with First Book He Wrote Himself, Thanks Son Kwon Hyeok-jun for the Cover cover

Actor Kwon Oh-jung has published the first book he ever wrote and gifted it to his wife for her birthday. He shared the news on social media on October 12, calling the book an account of his life and “the miracle of our family.”

He thanked his wife, “the woman who never let go of my hand in my darkest darkness and led me to the light,” according to the NewsEN report, and fellow actor Cha In-pyo, who reached out first during his hard times.

Kwon saved special praise for his son, Kwon Hyeok-jun, now a working artist, who designed the book’s cover. “With steps a little slower than others, he lives every day with all his strength,” Kwon wrote.

Hyeok-jun, born in 1997, has a developmental disability so rare it has no name. Kwon said on KBS 1TV in April that the family first learned of the condition in 2014. It is the first known case in Korea, with only about a dozen patients worldwide, and no treatment exists.

The son has built a career as a painter — he sold more than ten paintings last year, exhibited at the Daegu Art Fair in May, and has been invited to show in Seattle and New York this year.

Kwon married Eom Yoon-kyung, six years his senior, in 1996. “I hope these clumsy confessions become a small light for those quietly enduring their own darkness,” he added.
