Comedian Lee Guk-joo has declared war on her own clutter, kicking off a dramatic home cleanout after discovering just how much she had accumulated. The surprise headline from her purge: she owned six rice cookers.
According to a Sports Dong-a report, Lee documented the overhaul in a new video uploaded to her YouTube channel on October 11. The vlog, a day-in-the-life episode that also touches on preparations for her 20th anniversary talk concert, shows her sorting through rooms packed with belongings and committing to change.
“I’m too much of a maximalist, so I’m going to stop buying and start throwing things away,” she said in the video. “I decided to make the house a little cleaner, so I started tossing things a few days ago.”
She didn’t just throw things out. Lee also gave away unused kitchen goods, including an air fryer and brand-new dishes, explaining that several people came to collect them within a single day. Shelves once crammed with tableware now look visibly empty, the report noted.
Returning to show the tidier rooms a few days later, Lee confessed the detail that stunned viewers most: “My house had six rice cookers alone.” She said she sold some of them secondhand and plans to give one to her younger sibling.
Looking around the newly cleared space, she sounded satisfied. “There’s not a single thing left over,” she said. “I need to empty things out, because good things will come in only when I do.”
