Park Kyung-hye Applies for Government-Backed Long-Term Vacant Apartment After Starting Solo Life in Gangnam Studio cover

Actress Park Kyung-hye is house hunting again. She has applied for a government-subsidized long-term vacant apartment as she looks to move out of the tiny Gangnam studio where she started living alone for the first time.

According to MK스포츠, Park broke the news on the October 9 episode of Hyeri’s YouTube show, titled “위기에 처한 NF 경혜를 도와주세요!!!!!” (Help NF Kyung-hye in Crisis!!!!!). When Hyeri asked what she had been up to, Park answered that she had visited an eye clinic and an ENT — and that it was also the day to submit her apartment application.

Park explained the program covers apartments that stayed vacant for six months or more after a previous tenant moved out. The government subsidizes them so they can be offered below market price, on a monthly-rent basis, and raising the deposit lowers the monthly rent even further. She said she met the eligibility conditions and applied “where the chances are highest” — though whether she will be selected has not been decided yet.

Park previously revealed that her first solo home is a 6-pyeong one-room in Gangnam, with a 50 million won deposit and about 590,000 won a month in rent plus fees. Her biggest concern while house hunting was cockroaches: she once spotted cockroach bait on top of a fridge during a viewing and, for her current place, asked outright whether any had ever been seen before sighing with relief.

The application is in. Whether she lands the unit is still up in the air.
