Lee Sol-yi, the wife of comedian Park Sung-kwang, opened up on October 11 about her long recovery from cancer, saying she deeply regrets neglecting her health while chasing a busy career in her 20s and 30s.
According to Sports Chosun, Lee wrote on social media, “If I could go back to my 20s and give just one piece of advice, it would be to eat well and sleep well. Because I missed that, I’ve spent a full 5 years recovering my health.”
She said her days stay packed with vet visits for her dogs and work meetings while taking care of herself keeps getting pushed to the back burner. The old her, she recalled, would have survived such days on a single iced americano.
“Once my health collapsed, I learned that eating well and sleeping well are things you must never postpone,” she wrote.
Lee revealed in April 2025 that she had been diagnosed with a gynecological cancer, five months into preparing for a baby after quitting her job. She endured surgery and six months of cytotoxic chemotherapy, vomiting daily and going back and forth to the emergency room, and said the cancer’s nature meant she could no longer have children.
She is still on medication and undergoing treatment, and says she has a long way to go before a full recovery. Lee married Park Sung-kwang in 2020 and now works as an influencer.
