Lim Young-woong Surpasses 14.8 Billion Melon Streams with 6.44 Million Plays in One Day cover

Lim Young-woong has surpassed 14.8 billion cumulative streams on Melon, adding 6,445,700 plays in a single day, according to a report by Sports Donga published on October 30.

The report cited Melon artist streaming data released on October 29. It put his cumulative total at 14,804,410,000 streams, with 6,445,700 added in just one day. The single-day figure is what makes the milestone stand out: it shows his catalogue is still being played at a very high daily rate, not merely resting on past hits.

Melon’s Diamond Club is the top tier of its Billions Club for artists above 10 billion streams, and Lim Young-woong had already passed that mark. The new total therefore extends an existing lead. A separate TopStarNews report on the same milestone likewise recorded the 14.8-billion total and the 6.44-million single-day increase, and noted the total was about 200 million higher than the 14.6 billion in its September edition.

Sports Donga traced the longevity behind the numbers to his work since his debut in August 2016. It named “Trust in Me Now,” “Love Always Runs Away,” and “Our Blues” among the songs that have kept him in listeners’ daily rotation. Those are established signature songs, not a single new release driving this week’s count.

The report also stressed that album tracks, not only title songs, continue to be streamed steadily. That breadth helps explain why the total keeps climbing even on days without a new release or a major promotional event. A deep catalogue that listeners return to in full tends to produce exactly this kind of durable daily streaming.

Behind the numbers, Sports Donga pointed to the continued support of his official fandom, Hero Generation, and said he remains active through music releases and live performances. No separate agency statement announcing the milestone was cited in the report, and no new song or album was named as the cause of the single-day surge.

What comes next is whether the daily pace holds. A one-day increase of more than 6.44 million streams sets a high bar for ordinary days, and the next Melon update will show whether this was a peak day or part of a sustained run. For now, the confirmed totals are 14,804,410,000 cumulative streams, and 6,445,700 added in a single day.
