RESCENE's Agency THE MUZE Entertainment Warns Against Impersonation Fraud After Fake Employee Demands Money cover

THE MUZE Entertainment, the agency behind girl group RESCENE, has issued a public warning against impersonation fraud after confirming that an individual posing as a company employee contacted businesses to demand money. The agency released its statement on October 29, saying it had received multiple reports of employees being impersonated.

According to the statement, the impersonator introduced themselves as a member of THE MUZE Entertainment’s management support team and then contacted multiple paper manufacturing companies. The agency said the individual made monetary demands and sought unjust gains in the company’s name, prompting it to alert the public before further damage could occur.

THE MUZE Entertainment stressed that the person at the center of the case has no connection to the company. “The individual in question is not employed at our company and has no relation whatsoever to our company,” the agency said, adding that its employees only use official email accounts ending in @themuze.kr for work.

The agency also drew a clear line on how its staff operate, stating: “Our employees only use official email accounts (@themuze.kr) for work, and in no situation whatsoever do they make monetary demands.” It urged anyone who receives a similar request to stay alert and avoid suffering damages due to impersonation.

Legal action is already under way, according to the statement. THE MUZE Entertainment said it is “currently in the process of taking legal measures against the individual in question, including pressing charges.” It asked anyone who has received a similar request not to respond, and to immediately report it to the police or relevant authorities.

The warning arrives at a busy moment for RESCENE. The group is preparing to release its fourth mini album, “PULSE,” on November 3, following a run of renewed attention for its earlier track “LOVE ATTACK,” which gained traction in a reverse run. RESCENE also topped the October star brand reputation rankings covered earlier this month, placing the group in the spotlight just as its comeback approaches.

The agency’s statement did not identify the individual involved or disclose the amounts allegedly demanded. For now, its message is a practical one: verify the sender’s email domain, treat any monetary demand made in the company’s name as a red flag, and report suspicious contact to the authorities rather than engaging with it.
