Netflix’s three-part docuseries on the life of late “Friends” star Matthew Perry will premiere worldwide on October 27, Korean media outlet Newsen reported.

“The One About Matthew Perry,” directed by Emmy Award winner Mary Robertson and produced by Sony Pictures Television, traces Perry’s journey from an aspiring actor in Los Angeles to global stardom across 236 episodes as Chandler Bing, while examining his long struggle with addiction and his advocacy for recovery.

The series is anchored by the first on-camera interview with Perry’s younger sister, Mia Perry Bowick, alongside longtime friends David Pressman and Roger Castillo, former NBC Entertainment president Warren Littlefield, and former co-stars including Kevin Pollak. It also draws on never-before-heard interviews and unreleased home video from the Perry family’s private archive.

“It’s taken time for me to feel ready to share these memories and what it was like to love Matthew through all the complexity of his life — to see him as a whole person, not just as Chandler, and not just as someone who struggled with addiction,” Bowick said in a statement accompanying the announcement. “I hope this series gives everyone who loved him a deeper appreciation for who he truly was and the legacy he leaves behind.”

Perry was found drowned in the hot tub at his Los Angeles home in October 2023 at age 54; authorities attributed his death to the acute effects of ketamine, with drowning and coronary artery disease listed as contributing factors. Arriving near the third anniversary of his death, the docuseries offers fans their most intimate look yet at the man behind one of television’s most beloved characters.
